TJU Strengthens Its International Research University Collaborations

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök, Rector of the Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University (TJU), participated in the Times Higher Education (THE) Europe Universities Summit held in Milan between 5–7 May 2026.

The summit addressed key themes shaping the future of higher education, including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability, research excellence, and the future of universities. Research-oriented university models, international collaborations, and the integration of next-generation digital technologies into higher education were comprehensively discussed throughout the event.

Within the scope of the summit, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök held a meeting with Prof. Donatella Sciuto, Rector of Politecnico di Milano. During the meeting, potential collaboration opportunities between the Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University and Politecnico di Milano particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies, were discussed.

In addition, on 8 May 2026, a meeting was held with Prof. Luigi Piroddi, faculty member in the field of Systems and Control at Politecnico di Milano. The meeting focused on potential joint research initiatives in areas such as control systems, intelligent systems, AI-supported engineering applications, and digital technologies.

Discussions also included the establishment of joint research laboratories, project development processes, graduate-level academic collaborations, collaborative research projects, researcher exchange mechanisms, and the creation of technology-oriented joint platforms.
