Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata

Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata completed her undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University in 1996, 1999, and 2004, respectively. Following her doctoral studies, she pursued postdoctoral research from 2004 to 2005 at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), specializing in the Statistical Signal Processing Laboratory.

From 2005 to 2015, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. In 2015, she joined Istanbul Technical University (ITU), where she held several administrative roles, including Deputy Director of the Informatics Institute (2016–2018) and Director of the Informatics Institute (2018–2020). Since 2020, she has been serving as the Vice Rector of ITU.

Currently, Prof. Dr. Durak Ata serves as the Vice Rector responsible for research at ITU. She was honored with the “Digital Transformation and Big Data Studies Award” as part of the 2023 YÖK Excellence Awards for her leadership in the "Beehub - Integrated Big Data Platform" project.
