Prof. M. Naci INCI
Prof. Naci Inci received his BSc degree from Marmara University, Istanbul, in 1987; and his PhD degree in physics from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, in 1993. From 1993 to 1994, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow on fibre optic communication systems at the Electrical Engineering Department, Stanford University, CA, USA. In 1994, he moved to Boğaziçi University as Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics. He was promoted to Associate Professorship in 1996. He worked at the same department until 1999. From 1999 to 2005, he was faculty member at Sabancı University. He took an active part in establishing the university. In 2005, he joined Boğaziçi University as Professor of Physics. He was the Head of Physics Department for about 5 years between 2013-2020. He is currently the Rector of Boğaziçi University. During his academic carrier, Prof Inci has held appointments at the following institutions:
- 4th Physikalisches Institut, Stuttgart University, Germany (2002)
- Electronic Engineering Department, Gunma University, Japan (1998-1999)
- Applied Optics Department, Norwegian Technical University (1998)
- Physics Department, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (1997)
Prof Inci’s research field is photonics. He has authored/co-authored more than hundred scientific articles and conference papers.
Prof. İnci is a member of the TÜBİTAK Board of Directors and a member of the Board of the Interuniversity Council
