Technology Development Zone (Technopark)

The Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University Technology Development Zone (TJU Technopark) is designed not just as a traditional zone allocating offices to technology companies, but as an international innovation center that integrates scientific research, technology development, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship, and investment mobility between Türkiye and Japan.

1. General Vision and Strategic Positioning

The primary goal of the Technopark is to ensure that the scientific knowledge produced at the university is transformed into technology, products, services, and social benefit. It aims to turn academic research into concrete outputs such as patents, licenses, prototypes, software, and academic startups. Additionally, it serves as a hub strengthening the two-way technology transfer between Türkiye and Japan.

2. Thematic Technology Clusters

The thematic structure of TJU Technopark is established taking into account TJU's academic priorities and Türkiye's technology policies:
• Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies Cluster • Earthquake and Disaster Technologies Cluster • Energy and Carbon Neutral Technologies Cluster • Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Cluster

3. Entrepreneurship and Incubation Ecosystem

TJU Startup Factory is the main entrepreneurship platform transforming ideas and research outcomes developed within the university into technology-based companies. Through Pre-Incubation, Incubation, and Acceleration programs, it offers a phased support structure ranging from education to incorporation, prototyping to investment, and internationalization.

4. Türkiye - Japan Joint Innovation Fund

A dedicated Joint Innovation Fund is planned to be established within TJU Technopark to support joint research, technology development, and entrepreneurship projects between Türkiye and Japan. This fund aims to close the financing gap for early-stage innovative projects and accelerate the commercialization of joint technologies.

5. Integration with the University

The Technopark operates not as a separate campus, but as the application field for TJU's research, education, and social contribution mission. Students interning at Technopark companies, conducting final-year (capstone) projects, and participating in entrepreneurship programs form the foundation of its integrated structure with the university ecosystem.
