Committees and Task Definitions

Main Committees under the Rectorate

1. Quality Assurance Committee: Responsible for establishing the institutional quality assurance system concerning the university's education, research, and administrative services.
2. Education and Instruction Committee: Evaluates academic justifications for proposed programs, ensures consistent implementation of syllabi, and coordinates assessment principles.
3. Research and Innovation Committee: Develops the university's research policy in line with the scientific priorities of Türkiye and Japan. Coordinates publication, project, and intellectual property processes.
4. Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Committee: Sets principles for the transparent and competitive allocation of BAP funds. Evaluates project calls and tracking reports.
5. Academic Appointment, Promotion and Academic Ethics Committee: Develops standards aligned with international norms for the appointment of academic staff and investigates issues related to academic integrity and ethics.
6. Strategic Planning and Institutional Development Committee: Sets the university's medium and long-term strategic directions. Prepares the strategic plan and annual performance programs.

Turkish-Japanese Cooperation Committees

7. Turkish-Japanese Academic Cooperation Committee: Coordinates joint research, education, and exchange programs between universities in Türkiye and Japan.
8. Japanese Universities Coordination Committee: Manages the university's relationships with current and potential partners in Japan and oversees protocol processes.
9. Japan Industry and Technology Cooperation Committee: Establishes strategic partnerships with Japanese companies and industry associations to foster joint R&D projects and internship opportunities.
10. Japanese Education and Cultural Adaptation Committee: Sets standards for Japanese language teaching and develops cultural adaptation and academic preparation programs.

Technology and Research Committees

11. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Committee: Sets AI and data management strategies and evaluates digital transformation projects.
12. Robotics and Smart Systems Committee: Coordinates research capacity and infrastructure in Industry 4.0, robotics, and smart manufacturing technologies.
13. Cybersecurity and Information Security Committee: Develops security policies and incident response processes to protect information assets and critical infrastructure.
14. Energy Technologies Committee: Supports interdisciplinary projects and technology priorities in renewable energy, storage, and smart grids.
15. Earthquake and Disaster Technologies Committee: Develops joint scientific projects and early warning systems in earthquake engineering and disaster management with public and private sectors.

University-Industry and Entrepreneurship Committees

19. Intellectual Property and Patent Committee: Evaluates the identification, protection, and application processes for inventions, utility models, and designs.
20. Entrepreneurship and Incubation Committee: Plans the maturation, investor access, and incubation processes for technology-based startups of students and researchers.

Internationalization Committees

21. Internationalization Committee: Develops the university's strategy for global visibility, partnerships, mobility, and international rankings.
22. Student and Academic Exchange Committee: Oversees Erasmus+ and other international exchange programs, handling applications and recognition processes.
23. International Student Committee: Develops support mechanisms for the admission, enrollment, housing, and cultural adaptation of foreign students.

Student and Campus Life Committees

24. Student Experience and Satisfaction Committee: Monitors students' experiences with academic and administrative services and establishes improvement mechanisms.
25. Career and Alumni Relations Committee: Ensures students gain career awareness, coordinates internships and employer meetings, and manages the alumni tracking system.
26. Scholarship and Support Committee: Sets distribution principles for success and research scholarships and coordinates fair evaluation processes.
27. TJU Accessibility Committee: Plans necessary accommodations to ensure students to have equal and accessible participation in education and campus life.

Sustainability and Governance Committees

28. Sustainability and Green Campus Committee: Executes energy efficiency, waste management, and green campus policies towards a carbon-neutral campus goal.
29. Occupational Health and Safety Committee: Conducts risk assessments and action plans to ensure the health and safety of staff and students in educational, lab, and administrative activities.
30. Data Protection and KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law) Committee: Ensures personal data is processed and stored securely and in compliance with KVKK, Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law.
