DR. TUGBA GULES

Asst. Professor of Law

After graduating Istanbul University Faculty of law in Turkey, Dr. Gules completed the LL.M. programme at Temple University School of Law in the United States. Following her graduation, she received Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) for doctoral study and completed the Ph.D. programme at Nagoya University Graduate School of Law in Japan. During her graduate studies after being awarded the grant for superior research, she visited New York University School of Law and Cornell Law School.  Besides teaching at graduate level, she has been working as a legal consultant in Istanbul and New York. In the capacity of Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she performed work at the OECD in Paris and the United Nations in New York. She is a faculty member at Istanbul 29 Mayis University Faculty of Law and advisory board member of the Migration and Integration Research Center at Turkish-German University. She is an expert in the areas of Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law and Contract Law and interested in patents, biotechnology, information technologies and artificial intelligence.
